Sorry, guys. I'm back.
I forgot to talk about the most important feature of the Tritton AX 720- the surround sound. This headset doesnt have true surround sound (4 speakers in each ear cup) like the AX Pro. The AX 720 simulates surround sound. There are only 2 speakers in each cup. however, this may seem like a downside, but it is NO downside. Surround sound works very well with this headset, especially in games like MW2 and battlefield Bad Company 2. When I got the headset I first jumped into Free-for-Alls and the surround sound feature is magnificent. Ninja Pro= What ninja pro? Ninja pro is a little quieter, but you can still hear it. In my opinion (and other reviews say this), the surround sound feature works just as well as a headset with 4 speakers in each ear cup.
Once again, brilliant headset. 5*

This is going to be a full review of the Tritton AX 720 headset from a PS3 player's point of view/opinion.
Firstly, I'll quickly talk about Lime's excellent service. In a word, excellent. I ordered the headset Sunday nigh, go them on Wednesday (bank holiday). However, on the Tuesday, I received a text to my mobile phone confirming that my headset will be delivered on Wednesday. This particularly impressed me! So 5* for Lime and their EXCELLENT service.
Now, onto the Tritton AX 720 headset. All I have to say is, BRILLIANT! I have seen MANY reviews saying how uncomfortable the headset is and how after an hour of gameplay, you start to feel a little bit of pain- GARBAGE. For me, this headset is comfortable. I can wear this thing for hours and feel NO pain when I take them off. While playing, I still do realise that the headset is ON me, but not enough to throw me off my game. The adjustable headband is a nice feature as I can adjust it to the size of my giant head! Inside the package comes everything you need for setup/connection, including the very important Digital optical fibre cable. I found this pleasing because I didn't have to go to a shop and pay extra for an optical cable. Setup is very easy- took me about 10 minutes. Comes with a nice, coloured guide to set up the headset to a console or PC (in my case, PS3).There are however quite a bit of wires thereand can get into a bit of a mess, however, if you're a neat freak like me, then you can sort it out. The decoder box is a very nifty device which gives/sends the sound to the AX 720 headset. IT has a power button, Vol up/down button (which you dont really need) and a movie/game mode for when you are in game. I have this turned on. I like how the LED's on the decoder box change colour to represent different features. The last device I am going to talk about, which I absolutely love (other than the headset) is the in-line amplifier. The best thing is that it has a clip to put on your t-shirt or shirt poket for easy access to the controls. This is good so I dont have to hold it up most of the time. the controls are very simple. Adjusting Game and Chat volume is very easy and clever.
Now onto the performance. This is my very first headset for the Playstation 3. Firstly, I tested the microphone quality with my cousin in a private lobby of MW2 and according to him, the mic quality is crystal clear. Just to be sure, I tested it with one of my friends and he said the same thing. Mic quality=excellent. Sound quality is absolutely phenominal. It does take a few days to get used to hearing footsteps in MW2, but once you get used to it, you will never take the headset off. When I was loading the MW2 game, and I heard the sound (where the infinity ward logo comes up) I didnt notice much differrence between the headset and general speakers except more bass. But once I got into multiplayer, that completely changed. Guns sound more realistic. I also played Battlefield bad Company 2 with this headset and the sound quality is astounding in that game. You cant hear footsteps as well in battlefield than in mw2, but that is because of all of the game background noise. Speaking of background noise, I have heard no background noise in the headset. GREAT!
So, if you're a late night gamer who doesnt want to disturb the family and want to play and listen to ALL the sounds in the game, then the Tritton AX 720 is your headset.

Orderd Yesterday at 3:13 pm came today at 11am. Very good service from lime and the headset is amazing.. really light on my head can hear ninja pro if volume is up a bit and on cod4 dead silence is like not having it on!! VERY GOOD 5* |

WOW!! If you are a gamer on either ps3 or xbox then this is what you want to get. In my opinion i cant see the difference between these and the astro a40 |

Really Good Build And Sound Quality Had Problems Though At 1st With My Chat Lead And Mic But When i Contacted a Lime Customer Support Person They Diagnosed it straight away and send me a brand new Mic And Lead From Tritton Which Took Under 2 Days.Thanks For That.I recieved the chat lead Today and its working Amazingly.This Headset Is Better Than X4'S And Sharkoons In My Opinion, So This Is A Good Budgeted Headset.So Thanks Lime For You Support And Service 5* As Always,Dan |

OMG wat an amazing headset i had the x1s and 2 of me mates had x41s they just knew exactly were i was but now before they hear me i hear them amazing headset easy to setup

This headset is extremely comfartable, its almost like wearing earmuffs with the added Capability of Playing 5.1 Surround Sound.
The effect these have had on my game is great. There was two problems 1. It came with a broken Chat lead which Lime have no resolved
2. The courier was dreadful and couldn't find my Billing address but Lime was very helpful and the costumer support was ace

These are brilliant headsets! Much better than X4's, and way cooler looking as well! Sound quality is great, build quality is superior and I'm in love with the design of these things! Unfortunately, my pair came with a faulty chat-lead, but LIME instantly answered to my problem, and a new one is in the mail! So all in all, 5* headset, 10* service from LIME!

This is a pretty big headset but it's fairly light and extremely comfortable to wear for long gaming sessions. It doesn't pinch your head or put pressure on your ears as it's quite deep. I use this on the PS3 and the sound quality is fairly impressive. The Dolby Headphone surround works unbelievably well and there's no hiss or noise once set-up correctly. My only gripe is that the microphone can't be swivelled out of the way when not in use, although it can be removed altogether. Overall an excellent headset and well worth the money! |
