Ordered a Mixamp and a Turtle Beach HPx headset from LIME, I must say that I have never had better service anywhere than that which I received from LIME, they really do go above and beyond for their customers.
BTW the headset/mixamp combo is great. I bought them to stop the wife from complaining about the noise when I'm gaming but I was surprised to find my scores climbing as well, you really can tell exactly where an opponent is just by sound.
Many thanks |

What an awesome piece of kit this is!! ok it may seem like a lot of money for a little box , but if your serious about sound quality in your games then its a small price to pay i think and its very diverse .Even the box it comes in is awesome and its packed full of high quality cables but oddly not a toslink optical cable which imo is a slight oversight on astros part albeit a minor one ,another minus point is there are a lot of wires when this is setup especially if you use the USB power funciton .Im using the amp in conjuction with the HPX1 headset and the audio cues and sound quality are truly amazing , the build quality is sturdy and the controls simple and easy to use ,game chat can easily be adjusted via the game/voice dial to just the right level of balance , the lack of a mute feature on the talkback cable is somewhat annoying sometimes though , i also think it would have been nice to have some adjustment over bass on the amp, but overall i love this mix amp and despite the few minor points i still rate this a solid 5 out 5 .

Hi to you all at lime. A big thanks to chris for your very speedy help in sending me out a replacement communication lead for my astro mix amp. If any of you out there are thinking about buying one of these but are unsure if they are worth it then i can definately say that they are. I mainly play modern warfare and it has opened up a whole new game to be honest. The sound quality through it is absolutely crystal clear and the dolby surround works very well indeed. I use it with a pair of sennheiser pc350's which are also very well made and give excellent sound quality. I will only be using lime from now on for any of my gaming accessories as they have provided so much of a better service than some other company's i have used. So once again thank you to all of you at lime and hopefully this will be the last lead you have to send me out. Cheers chris from M Lewer |

Absolutely breathtaking. First off, brilliant service from Lime; dispatched Monday and received Tuesday.
Secondly: the MixAmp. I use this with Sennheiser PC350s, which means a stereo headset with an already large soundstage, with an even GREATER soundstage with absolutely no loss of sound quality or sound cues whatsoever. Yes, I can hear dead silence. Yes, I can hear ninja pro. I can pinpoint things with so much precision, I can tell not just where, but how far away thanks to Dolby Headphone, which I found very hard without the MixAmp. Also, you will find with most Sennheisers there's an imbalance in game audio to chat audio, and the MixAmp cures just that. Turn the dial a little towards the chat audio and you're sorted, simples. At first I was very skeptical about spending £100 on something that changes stereo to surround sound, but the benefits totally justify it's pricetag.
5/5 for MixAmp, 5/5 for Lime. |

Ordered this last month after doing extensive research. I use these with with the Audio Technica ATH-AD700 and the soundstage is very immersive revealing small details which I missed before when listening through my home cinema amp. Positioning is superb. Overall very impressed with the Astro Mixamp \ Headphones and the service from Lime was faultless, and as a first time customer I was very impressed with their superfast delivery. |

Was not planning on buying a mix amp until i bought a pair of the sennheiser pc350 headphones but am really glad i did as gives you awesome crystal clear sound and dolby. If you are going to buy any of the sennheiser headphones they will not work properly without an amp. This unit is really solid and seems very well made although i did get one with a duff communication cable but chris at lime was excellent as he helped me suss out exactly what was wrong and had a new lead to me the next day.If you can spare the cash it is definately a worth while purchase. |

Brilliant.
Although a dedicated headphone amp would be better for music, this still improves the quality for that area.
With gaming, the difference between stereo and surround is unbelievable - your jaw will drop at some things, and audio you didn't know existed will become known to you. |

Quite possibly the best accessory I have purchased for my gaming setup since my HDTV!
I use this with the Sennheiser PC 360 G4ME headphones & it has improved my Call Of Duty game play exponentially!
Being able to hear my targets & locate the sound before I can see them has given me a huge tactical advantage & my K/D ratio is vastly improved!
The ability to change the voice v game volume on the fly is a great asset too.
Cannot recommend this enough to anyone who is considering buying it. Especially if you own both Xbox 360 & PS3.
5 Stars to Astro for the MixAmp.
5 Stars to LIME for the service & advice! |

Wow! Ordered these on a Friday night and arrived Tuesday morning. I only bought the MixAmp because I want to buy some really good 'phones later and I already had a set of SteelSeries Siberia kicking around. Setup was easy but I got worried because I could only hear voice, not game. Thankfully, I realised I didn't insert a wire properly. Anyway, I never thought my Siberia's were much good but wow ths MixAmp makes it amazing. I've only had about 20 minutes with it so far but the difference with this is so obvious. It took me about 5 minutes to get to grips with it but the more I use them, the better they become. Word of warning: let them 'burn in'. At first they sounded OK but after 20 minutes you'll see why they're worth £100. Also, because this MixAmp is sooo good, when people who are far away shoot on MW2, it sounds like they're next to you, so get used to them properly. The best £100 I've ever spent for gaming! (: |

Awesome amp!
This gets a 10/10 purely on the fact it gives you Dolby Headphone which with a nice set of headphones will transform your game.
Great service from lime as usual |

After using a pair of Turtle Beach X41's and being unable to live with the level of hiss they generated, I decided to change them for a Mixamp and a pair of decent cans. I decided to get a pair of AD700's and a Zalman Mic for game chat. Support/Delivery was exceptional from Lime as usual. The box arrived well packaged the following day. I was surprised at the quality of the box the amp came in. It looks like something you'd love to open at Christmas! Inside was the Mixamp and pretty much every cable you should need (minus a TOSLink cable -- few quid off ebay for a decent one) and 2 instruction booklets. I was very surprised at how light the amp was but its extremely well built and has a nice glossy finish on the front. The base is made of rubber so it looks like it'll take a few knocks if you accidentally dropped it. Setup was extremely easy, my only criticism so far, I wish the controller cable was a bit longer and had a mute. But I understand mute is not used on competition grade headsets, the length can be rectified by an extension cable or move the Mixamp closer to you assuming your TOSLink is long enough. Sound quality is well, mind blowing! It is definitely on par with the X41's despite being 5.1 channel. I don't think the extra 2 pseudo channels [on the X41's] really make any difference between the 2 sets. The Mixamp is lighter on bass but I found the X41's had too much bass anyway and muddied some of the mid's. Positional cues do seem far easier to locate on the Mixamp, first game on MW2 I went 17-0, I was over the moon as I'd hadn't been able to get the AC-130 at 11 kills in a while. No more being stabbed in the back! I found (most likely due to the heavier bass) the X41's hurt my head after a while but the Mixamp I can use for hours and it still feels extremely comfortable to listen to. Plus being able to choose your own cans, you can decide on whats comfortable on your head. Originally I wanted a pair of gaming phones simply for late night gaming but didn't realise how much of an edge a Dolby amp can give you on games like COD, and the sound quality is nothing short of amazing. Playing Bioshock made me jump a few times! Overall I am extremely happy with the Mixamp, I was concerned it wouldn't deliver the same sound quality as the X41's (minus the hiss) and it does by the bucket load. It cost me about £200 for my setup (which comes highly recommended on gaming forums), you can spend the same cash on the A40 but I cannot comment how good the phones are. I wanted to use the AD700's for music as well anyway. If you're after a Dolby Amp to use with a pair of decent cans, then I cannot recommend the Mixamp enough. |

Great for games postional location is required. Does take a bit of getting used to esp locating exact direction, but once you get hang of it they really help (plus the sound doesn't annoy my misses!!! Can hear people running around with Dead Silence on on COD4. I've been using Sennhieser HD25s & have tried some Goldring DR150's (which I thought where slightly better) I bought the mixer amp because I wanted to buy some new headphones and beable to use them for music etc. The problem is that to use your own headphones you have to buy a seperate mic (from maplins for £5-£20.\) I bought the £20 one as its powered (by a battary) & thought the line level would be better ,but it's still hard for people to hear me when I talk. Plus there are loads of wires. I feel like I'm connected to the matrix. My advice would be to go the whole hog and get the Astro cans as well because the mic is on the headset so less wires and it should be built to work with the astro instead of trying to shoehorn something else to work. Luckily I had my HD25's kicking about. I'm going to buy the Astro cans or Xforce ones. Without a doubt a great addition for gaming! :) |
